NCFA was established in 2001 and was chaired by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah as an umbrella organization that supports, coordinates, and facilitates the work of national governmental and non-governmental institutions, international organizations and the private sector working in the field of family affairs with a view to attain a better future for the Jordanian family.
NCFA’s tasks and responsibilities are geared towards strategic planning and formulation of policies and programs in line with socio-economic and qualitative standards that can help monitor and set characteristics for the family in Jordan in order to adjust plans, programs, policies, legislation and procedures emanating thereof in accordance with a deeper understanding of family issues, taking into account that families ’needs vary according to their circumstances.
NCFA has initially been founded to follow up on the Early Childhood Development Strategy in the year 2000. Hence, it began to coordinate its work on childhood issues through the Early Childhood Development Team whose main tasks were to facilitate networking and coordination among all entities working in the field of early childhood development in Jordan to ensure harmonization and complementarity of their efforts; advocate for childhood development issues; and achieve optimal utilization of time and resources to achieve goals according to a common national vision.
